The contents of your medical record are held in strictest confidence according to HIPAA federal regulations, which protect patients' privacy rights and health information. Your personal health information is stored electronically on the Partners HeatlhCare System's computers, where it is fully protected and secure. The Lown Center will not release information concerning your health to insurance companies or attorneys without your written authorization.
When you arrive for your first visit, we will provide you with further information about HIPAA and our Notice of Privacy Practices, which provides a detailed statement about our use and disclosure of personal health information.
