Cardiac Testing

Holter Monitor

A small 24 hour monitor records your heart beat while you are sleeping, exercising at home, and under the daily stresses of life.  A diary is provided to record your activities and symptoms, and is then correlated to the electrocardiogram recording.  The monitor takes 10 minutes to apply and is worn for the next 24 hours.  The only limitation is not taking a shower or swimming.  You will be shown how to remove the monitor yourself.  The monitor should be returned the next day, or mailed back to the office.  Results of the monitor are usually available within one day.
