The Lown Cardiovascular Center is proud to serve the patient community and their families.  We provide cardiovascular evaluation and treatment services for patients with all types of cardiac conditions and diseases, with emphasis in noninvasive diagnostics and therapeutics.

You will need an appointment to see one of our physicians.  Normal business hours for the Lown Center are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.  Patients wishing to schedule an appointment, or seeking additional information about the Lown Center, should call our office at 617-732-1318.  A first visit to the Lown Center is scheduled for one hour.  New patients are advised to bring with them any pertinent medical records and a list of all medications and supplements that they are taking.  They are also asked to bring their health insurance identification card(s), and a referral if they are enrolled in a managed care health plan that requires specialty referrals.  Patients in HMO plans should be sure to obtain that referral from their primary care physician prior to the visit.  Our billing office staff is familiar with the referral requirements of most insurance carriers, and will be happy to assist the patient if there are any questions. We ask that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time.

The testing done during a first visit may include an electrocardiogram, urinalysis, oximetry, and possible blood chemistry tests.  If additional testing is required (for example, a cardiac stress test or ultrasound) another appointment will be scheduled.  Most noninvasive testing is performed here in our office on Longwood Avenue.  Click here for Further information about these tests  You may also be referred to the Brigham and Women’s Hospital for certain outpatient tests or specialized procedures.  Our staff will assist in scheduling these tests.

Appointment reminder letters will be sent if you are due for a periodic follow-up visit.  Cardiac testing, if required, may necessitate two separate visits, so please try to schedule your appointments sufficiently in advance.
